BREAKFAST WILL NO LONGER BE PROVIDED AT THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE
As NACOLE continues to grow and evolve, our commitment to fiscal responsibility and good stewardship of your membership resources remains paramount. Each decision we make must carefully balance the immediate experience of our annual conference with the broader mission of supporting oversight communities across the country.
After thoughtful consideration, the Board has decided to stop providing breakfast at the NACOLE Annual Conference. In recent years, the cost of breakfast has surpassed $90,000. Meanwhile, the organization's financial responsibilities continue to grow faster than its revenue. Although the conference serves as a significant occasion for our community, its primary objective is to facilitate oversight by providing training, educational programs, and networking opportunities. However, it must do so without diverting critical resources needed to sustain our ongoing mission throughout the year.
By redirecting these funds, NACOLE will be able to:
- Strengthen training and technical assistance programs that generate income and directly benefit oversight practitioners nationwide;
- Expand staff capacity to meet growing demand for services, ensuring that members receive timely, high-quality support; and
- Allocate resources to organizational priorities focused on accountability and community trust across different jurisdictions.
Thank you for your support as we work to sustain NACOLE’s mission into the future. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions. READ MORE...

TRAVELING, TRANSPORTATION & PARKING
If you’re traveling to Minneapolis for an event, the most convenient airport to fly into is Minneapolis–St. Paul International Airport (MSP), which serves both domestic and international flights. From the airport, there are several transportation options to reach the Minneapolis Marriott City Center hotel downtown. One of the most affordable and efficient options is the Metro Transit Blue Line light rail, which runs every 10–15 minutes and gets you downtown in about 25–30 minutes for just $2–$2.50. Buses, such as Metro Transit Route 54, also serve the airport but are slower due to multiple stops. For a more direct ride, taxis are readily available at both terminals and typically cost $38–$50, while ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft offer fares in the $25–$45 range, depending on time and demand.
If you prefer a scheduled ride, airport shuttles such as SuperShuttle provide shared transportation directly to the hotel, with one-way fares starting around $16. Once you arrive at the Marriott City Center, the hotel offers on-site self-parking for approximately $32–$43 per day with in-and-out privileges. Valet parking is also available at a higher rate, typically between $52 and $55 per day.
