The Importance of a Discipline Matrix in Policing and Civilian Oversight
On Tuesday, November 19, 2024 NACOLE welcomed Heather Cook and Dr. Richard Rosenthal to discuss the opportunities and challenges faced in trying to ensure fair and consistent police discipline that satisfies community expectations and supports effective and Constitutional policing. They will discuss their experiences in creating and sustaining discipline matrixes in New York City and Denver, and provide guidance on best practices for creating and implementing discipline matrixes to improve law enforcement behavior and culture going into the future.
