One of the most pressing and vexing issues in civilian oversight of jails has been review of health care issues in the carceral environment. While health care may be affected by decisions of correctional officers, the core decisions are typically made by health care workers, often those working for a private contractor in the jails. This webinar will explore issues related to jail health care, including ways to provide quality care, civilian oversight options for health care, and oversight issues particular to this health care environment.
