Captain Ashley Heiberger (Ret.)
On June 27, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. ET, NACOLE will welcome Ashley Heiberger, a retired police captain with several years of experience in federal oversight of law enforcement, to discuss foundational concepts and principles governing police-community encounters, including reasonable suspicion and probable cause. He will examine the requirements for police to briefly detain and pat down community members, often referred to as “Stop, Question, & Frisk," exceptions to the warrant requirement, and the rules which govern arrest.
The webinar is scheduled for one hour, followed by an optional 30-minute discussion immediately afterward. Only those who attend the live webinar will be able to join the discussion. The webinar will be recorded and available to registrants for three months.
