Over the past few weeks, the NACOLE staff and board of directors have been having critical discussions determining how we can best support you and the necessary work of oversight during this unprecedented time.
The health and well-being of our members, supporters, and communities is of utmost importance to us. Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s annual conference. Today we signed an addendum with the host property to hold the conference next year in Tucson, Arizona from August 29 – September 2, 2021. This should provide enough time for the COVID-19 crisis to subside and for local, state, and federal governments to begin to recover from the crisis. With that said, NACOLE is committed to continuing to provide you the content and resources it has delivered for over 25 years. In the coming weeks we will be preparing to provide the content of the annual conference to you throughout the year in a digital format.
While we understand this will be a major shift in how we engage with you, we are confident that the materials and sessions will be well-structured, provide timely information, and most importantly, meet the standards to which you are accustomed to at our annual conference.
Please look for emails announcing what will be provided and when registration will be open. Updated information can also always be found by visiting the NACOLE website at www.nacole.org.
As a reminder, the NACOLE staff remains working hard from home and are available to answer questions and assist members of the broader oversight community. Their strategic thinking brought about NACOLE’s plan to bring you important training and resources in the coming weeks and months. If you do need to contact them, please do so at (317) 721-8133 or [email protected].
We plan to do all that we can to keep our members and supporters engaged while we work through the challenges we are all facing. We look forward to seeing you online in the near future and in-person at the NACOLE annual conference in 2021!
Best wishes,
Susan Hutson
NACOLE President
