How To Create Your Agency Profile on the Nacole Website

This “How To” page was created to walk you through the process of creating an account and profile for your Oversight Agency. At the Nacole conference, you will register your agency name and email with our administrators, who will then be in charge of approving your information and notifying you by email. We know how challenging(and rewarding) this work can be and we’ve decided to cut the difficulty out of this process so you can register, set up a profile that best represents your organization’s mission and goals, and get on with serving the many communities you represent across this country. Just follow these instructions and you will be well on your way.

Important Things to Remember:

  • Everyone has an account(non public) and profile(public).
  • Make sure you list your agency with its name exactly how you want to see it listed on the profile.

Creating Your Agency Profile:

  1. Go to www.nacole.org/user to create your account.
  2. Click on “Create New Account” in the blue menu box on the top right side of the page. Once you have an account, you will go to the same box and enter your username and password and go directly to your account. Until then, you still have a few more steps to go.
  3. Step 2 will take you to the User account page. Here, you will enter your username (the agency name exactly as you want it stated on the website) and your agency email address. You need to use the email that is associated with your agency. This will not be public information, but is needed for communication with you in order to allow you to register. Please leave the “Affiliations” box blank (that is there for other types of accounts, such as members).
  4. When you register, we will then have to approve your request and you will receive two emails within 72 hours. The first one will let you know that we have received your information. You will then receive a second one that lets you know that your account has been activated.
  5. With this second email, follow the link in this message and it will take you to the User Account page. From there you will be asked to enter your username and to create a password. You will also need to scroll down and include information about your agency..
  6. In this section, there are a few things to keep in mind:
  • You can upload a picture or logo in the “upload” section.
  • When you are entering your agency information, pay attention to the fields that require you to include a lot of information. These are usually bigger boxes like the “mission” field, where you will have the opportunity to share your agency’s mission on the website. Here, scroll down to the end of that field and make sure you click on Full HTML, which will format your text correctly. It is currently set to Filtered HTML, so please change it to “Full.”
  • At the end, don’t forget to click the save button at the bottom of the page.

Maintaining Your Agency Profile:

  1. Congrats, you’ve set up your agency profile. You can now log in using your password. Go to nacole.org and enter your username and password in the fields on the top right side of the page.
  2. Step 1 will bring you to the Nacole homepage. Here, you can manage your account using the menu items in the blue box on the top right side of the page.
  3. To edit or view your account, click on the “my account” field, which will take you to your agency page with options to view or edit your information.
  4. To make changes to your profile, click “edit” and you will have the option to make changes to your account or your profile. There will be two bars to the right: One says “Oversight Agency” and the other says “Account.”
  5. If you wish to make changes to your profile(contact person, mission, annual budget, etc), then click on Oversight Agency. If you wish to make changes to your account(email, password, picture or logo, etc), then click on the “Account” link.
  6. At the end of the session, click on the “x” at the far right of the edits page(right next to the Oversight Agency and Account links) to close the screen and get you back to your profile page. Simply click the “log off” link in that blue box and that’s it.
  7. Congratulations! You have officially created an Oversight Agency account and Profile with NACOLE.
